Big Ikebana work at Japanese WAGASHI shop, TORAYA, in Ginza

2017.2.2 21:56

TORAYA is a famous Japanese confection shop that has a long history, opened at 1937 in Kyoto. Ginza shop is a headquarter of all branches now and I feel honored to arrange my Ikebana work here.

Height is about 6.6 feet, so a huge work.

When I thought about February, the beautiful yellow of Golden Bells occurred to my mind. I’d like to express the complimentary color effect, so I painted the old branches with purple.

I used a lot of orchid ( dancing lily orchid) to emphasize the yellow and purple effect.

I go to the shop every 2 days to check and rearrange my Ikebana. I changes all materials every week, so I make a slightly different arrangement though I use completely same materials.

Showing around my neighbor area. My apartment is built on a long shopping street and this kind of  traditional shopping  street is rare even in Tokyo.
